Layer 2 and the ASAv Arrive in Cisco VIRL!

The Cisco VIRL team has announced the much anticipated April upgrade yesterday (4/21/2015) that includes a true Layer 2 IOS and the ASAv functionality.

Remember, the Layer 2 IOS will count against the 15 device limit, so if you want other switches in the topology that you are not needing to configure, use the Unmanaged Switch option there.

There is a Quick and Full upgrade option available for those of running VIRL currently. For those of you needing a complete OVA install, the OVA will be made available soon.

IOS XE for the CCIE R&S v5 Written

For many students, the toughest part of the written exams for CCIE are the topics that are not covered in the lab portion. Perhaps motivation (or a lack thereof) might have something to do with it. Students realize they are ONLY studying the topic for the written and do not approach it with the same passion as the lab exam topics. Do not fall into this trap! Here is one for you to master that is written only for the CCIE R&S version 5. It is IOS XE. Make flash cards from this video and scratch this topic off your list!
